Immersive Wonders: Discovering EtaMae and Jos’s Art at Souland Gallery

Entering a New World

As soon as you walk into EtaMae and Jos’s specially designed room at the Souland Gallery, you feel like you’ve entered a different world—a stunning space where art, design, and technology come together to create something truly magical. Right away, the moving pictures, detailed lighting, and carefully built structures grab your attention and pull you into a unique adventure. Every part of the room, from the setup to the atmosphere, has been carefully planned to spark amazement and make you want to explore more.

At the entrance, you’ll see a tablet on the wall called the Environment Changer. This tool lets visitors change the settings of their surroundings to make the experience feel more personal and real. To get the most out of it, tap the tablet, agree to start the experience, and choose the advanced settings with mirrors turned on (PBR). This will unlock the room’s full potential, making EtaMae’s materials look even more stunning and bringing every detail to life.

The room uses high-tech projectors, light sensors, and a large PBR probe to create a magical atmosphere. However, Eta has made sure that even those who can’t use the advanced settings can still enjoy the beauty of the art. Her focus on accessibility shows her dedication to making the experience enjoyable and welcoming for everyone.

The Creative Partnership of EtaMae and Jos

Jos, the creative force behind the room’s design, brings a unique perspective to the space. His ideas include a tilted box shape, wavy floors, ceilings from his original work, and custom-made art frames that lean gracefully against the walls. His focus on structure and form blends perfectly with EtaMae’s lively and artistic style.

“Jos has a great sense of shape and design”, EtaMae said, “and he always aims to be original in his approach. He won’t share anything he’s not fully satisfied with, and that motivates me to challenge myself and grow.”

Together, Eta and Jos have created a space that is not only beautiful but also full of meaning. Their experiments with Blender, a design tool, add even more creativity to their work, as they turn simple shapes into detailed and captivating designs.

The Artworks: Exploring Abstract Expression

EtaMae’s exhibition highlights her famous Flesh Series, a group of works that mix abstract shapes, colors, and storytelling in a way that’s hard to define. Her art sparks curiosity and makes people think, often surprising viewers with its bold and original ideas.

Below is the full list of artworks you’ll see in this engaging exhibition:

Eta’s way of creating art is very personal. As she said, “A lot of my work is about playing with shapes and colors. I really like abstract art, and I’ve always avoided making things that are too ‘pretty.’ I want my art to make people think, even if it’s just surprising them a little.”

Her unique style, which includes cutting out shapes, using scripts, and trying out different textures, shows how much she enjoys exploring new ideas in Second Life. Her artwork, Flesh Revisited, is a great example of this. “It’s amazing to go back to this piece in a place where I don’t have to rush”, she said, appreciating the freedom to create at Souland.

For those who want to explore more, EtaMae’s abstract art opens the door to endless stories. Some might see a style similar to Hieronymus Bosch, with mythical creatures, deep meanings, and mysterious tales. Each piece encourages viewers to use their imagination, see the art in their own way, and maybe even get lost in a world of fantasy.

The joint exhibition by EtaMae and Jos at the Souland Gallery is something you shouldn’t miss if you’re looking for inspiration, self-reflection, or just a moment of wonder. The mix of modern design, incredible skill, and a deep knowledge of what’s possible in Second Life makes this show truly special.

A Journey Through Elegance and Rebellion: The Visual Brilliance of Honey Bender

A Journey Through Elegance and Rebellion: The Visual Brilliance of Honey Bender

Enter the captivating world of Honey Bender,

where every picture reveals a mix of opposites—beauty and gloom, power and fragility, rebellion and grace. Famous for her unique talent as a photographer, designer, and fashion blogger, Honey draws people in with her warm, golden tones and the quiet but powerful contrasts in her art. Her ongoing display at Souland Gallery is a treat for the eyes, packed with emotional stories, beautiful fashion, and a perfect balance of light and dark.

I’ve worked with Honey many times, and I’m always amazed by her talent. She has a special way of capturing the essence of people—deep, mysterious, and a little dreamlike. Every one of her pictures tells a story—sometimes bold, sometimes sad, sometimes gentle—that stays with you even after you leave the gallery. Her work breaks the rules, mixing rebellion with beauty that feels eternal.

Let’s take a look at the stunning collection on display:

Featured Works

Lofoten A striking portrait of a woman in a white blouse with soft patterns and pearls. Around her head is a crown of dark roses, sharp and fierce with thorns. She looks off into the distance, lost in thought, with a deep, dark brown background behind her.

“Girl’s Night” A soft and emotional look at the female body. The woman’s hands are crossed over her stomach, as if protecting herself, and her chest is covered with tape. There’s a small bandage on her side. Her face isn’t shown, which makes the image feel both fragile and strong, like it could represent any woman.

“Volva” A bold image of a woman wearing a stiff, dark dress. Her head is shaved, with a punk-style haircut and a small cross shaved into her scalp. She looks down, her lips slightly open, as if lost in deep thought. The background is simple and brown, adding to the serious mood.

“Ronnie” A powerful woman stands in a shiny brown-gold bodysuit with a deep neckline. She wears a fur jacket over her shoulders and holds a lit cigarette in her mouth. Her makeup is messy, and her sharp, intense eyes show a strong, confident attitude.

“Rough” A look at strong differences. The person has unique face details—a scar-like line that changes her mouth and a face with many moles—showing boldness. She’s wearing a red shirt with black shiny details, her arms resting by her sides.

“Black Swan” A fun but bold twist on traditional ballet. The dancer has tattoos and wears casual sneakers, which stand out against her fancy black ballet dress. Her big, styled blonde hair adds a dramatic touch.

“Temple of Love” A captivating focus on a woman’s feet in extremely high, bold heels. The tall, gold-tipped stiletto is a wonder of design, and the tight straps show strength and willpower.

“Volva” Now the woman face, covered by a mask, is set against a cloudy sky. The detailed half-helmet mask suggests a tough journey, with every line showing she’s survived many challenges.

“Diva” This picture reminds me of Rick Genest, also known as “Zombie Boy.” It captures the mysterious charm of someone covered in tattoos. The person’s strong stare and the way they bite their lip hint at hidden stories.

“Courtesan” An older woman with bright blue eyes and a fancy, old-fashioned hairstyle. Her face, marked with deep lines, shows she’s lived through a lot and gained wisdom. Her red-brown top and detailed corset show both beauty and strength.

“Vamp” The person is lying back on a soft red seat, with a coat hanging loosely over them, showing their body in a graceful way. Shadows move over their bare skin, and their thin cheeks give them a mysterious, captivating look.

“Pure” A picture of young, simple beauty. The person is wearing shiny rose-gold silk shorts, with no top on, and flowers in their hair, making them look like they’re from a fairy tale. The shadows around her face make them seem a bit mysterious.

“Plumes” A detailed picture of a woman wearing leather and tattoos. A blurry lamp in front adds a cozy feel, while jewelry and a bindi inspired by Indian culture give her an exotic, striking appearance.

“The Red Dress” A powerful picture of a woman with dark eye makeup and a shadowy face. Her long red dress and white silk lining show a classic beauty against a dark background.

Honey Bender’s photos take people into a world where every look, pose, and piece of clothing tells a story full of depth and contrast. She uses soft colors, strong differences, and detailed textures to create a story that lets people see their own meaning in it. Her art shows many sides of being a woman—strong, sensitive, bold, and daring—while mixing rebellion and elegance in a way that makes her an artist to admire.

Step into the world of Honey Bender’s incredible art at Souland Gallery. Let her powerful images spark your creativity, touch your heart, and make you see beauty and strength in new ways. Visit the ongoing exhibit and enter a space where grace and boldness come together.

Discover. Interpret. Feel.

The Soulful Lens of Black & White Photography: Catherine Nikolaidis Returns to the Spotlight

The Soulful Lens of Black & White Photography: Catherine Nikolaidis Returns to the Spotlight

How does black-and-white photography touch our deepest emotions?

Today, I feel proud—both as a PR and a passionate fan—to introduce an incredible artist who turns ordinary moments into unforgettable, emotional works of art: Catherine Nikolaidis. Her stunning black-and-white photos speak a visual language of strong feelings, beauty, and deep truths that go beyond words. Catherine doesn’t just take pictures; she creates powerful stories, drawing us into a world where emotions are shaped by the striking yet balanced mix of light and dark.

Catherine Nikolaidis’ way of creating art feels natural and uplifting. One of her past works, inspired by the emotional words of a love song, shows a lone figure standing in a beam of light, capturing feelings of both desire and hope. This piece is a great example of how music and brief moments of light inspire her powerful images. Music, emotions, and light are her main sources of inspiration, with a single lyric or a sudden flash of light sparking ideas that turn into stunning visual stories. Her motto, “Be Free,” reflects her belief that art is a way to express the deepest feelings of the soul and set it free. In her world, photography is like a dance between opposites: light and dark, calm and movement, love and longing. Each photo she takes invites viewers to feel the story, pulling them into a beautiful, almost indescribable experience.

This new exhibition at the Souland Gallery, which is also Catherine’s permanent display space, dives deep into black-and-white photography. It focuses on raw, honest emotions and highlights the beauty of the human body in a simple, elegant way. Catherine’s work shows the beauty of being vulnerable, walking the line between hinting at something and revealing it fully. Her photos don’t show everything but give just enough to spark imagination and strong feelings, capturing timeless truths with grace and style.

Her pictures are a beautiful mix of light, shadow, and powerful storytelling:

“Fearless” shows a nearly naked woman wearing only black lace gloves. Her face is partly hidden in shadows, giving off a sense of mystery and power.

“Soul” features a woman’s face with just one bright blue eye and her shoulder visible from the shadows, showing a hint of softness and deep emotion.

“Sugar” captures the pure and graceful look of a young woman standing confidently in heels with bows, mixing elegance with a fun, charming vibe.

“Calm” displays a peaceful figure sitting with her back softly lit by light, looking into the darkness ahead—a scene that leaves much to the imagination.

“Capable” uses light and shadow to show a thoughtful figure whose stance reveals inner strength and determination.

“Magnetic” draws you in with a glimpse of a face. The eyes are full of charm, and the slightly open lips make you feel like you’re sharing a private moment.

“Alluring” shows a woman sitting by a wall. Her long hair falls around her, covering her body, while light plays on her face, showing her deep emotions.

“Heal” is about getting better. A person leans against a wall, their face hidden in shadows, showing how strength can come from tough times.

“Brave” shows innocence and courage. Hands gently touch a bare back, with light and shadow creating a story of quiet strength.

In “Enigmatic”, a look over a bare shoulder pulls you into the mystery of the person, mixing what you can see with what’s hidden inside.

“Angelic” shows a woman sitting in the shadows, with her arms in a protective and respectful position. Light surrounds her body, creating a peaceful glow.

“Poised” displays a graceful figure wearing lace, showing calm strength through the mix of different textures.

We are thrilled to welcome Catherine Nikolaidis back as she presents her latest collection. Her gallery space at the Souland Gallery offers a deeply engaging experience—a calm yet moving retreat where every photograph is filled with emotion and meaning. Visitors will discover breathtaking compositions that honor the natural beauty of the human body, beautifully framed by light and shadow to create a sense of elegance, sensuality, and thoughtfulness, all while maintaining grace and subtlety. Through her personal perspective, Catherine invites us into a meaningful conversation between what is visible and hidden, blending fantasy with reality.

I warmly invite you to join us in celebrating this extraordinary talent. Step into a world shaped by Catherine’s heartfelt vision, where each photograph tells a story of freedom, connection, and the timeless beauty of black-and-white photography. Experience her work and let it inspire you to see art not just as an image, but as a moment to treasure.
