Today I felt like the sea, the scent of summer. I wanted to hear the sound of the waves, the sound of seagulls, and the joy of the people on the steps of Santorini.
Little Santorini is the brand new location that appeared in Second Life Destinations in the “real life” section. It is a sim inspired by the famous Greek island Santorini.
It offers visitors a breathtaking landscape that immerses them in the climate of the beautiful Greek island. Today I did not spare myself, and I walked all the paths and climbs of Little Santorini, exploring every ravine, every little detail.
And while I rest my tired legs, I think it would be like living in Santorini.
Oggi avevo voglia di mare, di profumo d’estate. Avevo voglia di sentire il suono delle onde, il verso dei gabbiani e l’allegria delle gente sulle scale di Santorini.
Little Santorini è la nuovissima location apparsa in Second Life Destinations nella sezione “real life”. E’ una sim ispirata alla celebre isola Greca Santorini.
Offre ai visitatori un paesaggio mozzafiato che li fa immergere nel clima della splendida isola greca. Oggi non mi sono risparmiata e ho percorso tutti i viottoli e le salite di Little Santorini, esplorandone ogni anfratto, ogni piccolo particolare.
E mentre mi riposo le gambe affaticate, penso come sarebbe vivere a Santorini.
Lately, Jambo has appeared in Second Life Destinations! A Voyage To Africa. It is a location that captures the community’s attention, and the reasons are easy to understand. Jambo! Presents itself as an innovative sim, which has nothing to do with the traditional way of conceiving and creating a sim.
The first aspect that strikes, when you arrive at Jambo! is the sun. It is so intense that you feel it burning on your skin. The land, arid and cracked, is home to typical African vegetation. All around you can see the typical African fauna: lions, tigers, hyenas, ostriches, giraffes, monkeys, griffons, and buffaloes.
While walking, I think I got the wrong outfit this morning: my high boots were not a happy choice. Immersing myself in this landscape and hearing the sounds that make the African environment even more realistic make me feel inside the scene. Instinctively I find myself imagining what it would be like to live in Africa, in contact with ferocious animals and constant sun and heat.
Jambo! was made by Camila (camila.runo), and the group related to the sim is open to all sympathizers.
Ultimamente in Second Life Destinations è comparsa Jambo! A Voyage To Africa. Si tratta di una location che sta catturando l’attenzione della community e le ragioni sono facili da comprendere. Jambo! si presenta come una sim innovativa, che non ha nulla a che vedere con il modo tradizionale di concepire e creare una sim.
Il primo aspetto che colpisce, all’arrivo a Jambo! è il sole. E’ così intenso che sembra di sentirlo scottare sulla pelle. La terra, arida e crepata, ospita la tipica vegetazione africana. Tutto intorno la fauna tipica dell’Africa: leoni, tigri, iene, struzzi, giraffe, scimmie, grifoni e bufali.
Mentre cammino, penso che ho sbagliato abbigliamento stamattina: i miei stivali alti non sono stati una scelta felice. Immergersi in questo panorama, sentendo i suoni che rendono ancora più realistico l’ambiente africano, mi fa sentire dentro la scena. Istintivamente mi ritrovo a immaginarmi come sarebbe vivere in Africa, a contatto con animali feroci e un sole e caldo costanti.
Jambo! è stata realizzata da Camila (camila.runo) e il gruppo relativo alla sim è aperto a tutti i simpatizzanti.

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to explore a location that, recently, Second Life Destinations is promoting: Paris for Ara. In Second Life Destinations, you can find it under the name “Vive La Paris.”
It’s a sim for photographic purposes, so it’s designed especially for photographers who love the French style. However, like Paris, after all, Paris for Ara offers romance and opportunities for sweet moments with your partner.
You can find information about booking a romantic dinner at the landing point, including the full service. Someone will smile thinking of a virtual dinner, but remember that any event can become interactive and engaging with the introduction of experiences. I haven’t tried this experience, so I can’t tell you more, but I think that, if you are looking for a moment of relaxation and romance, this could be an excellent opportunity.
In the description of the location you can read:
There is such beauty and depth found in the richness of its history and culture. It’s withstood so much yet it endures, still breathtaking and strong. You remind me of Paris.
From About Land
The location is divided into two settings: the first, accessible from the landing point, shops, and streets full of florists and flowers on display. These bars display delicacies too realistic that tease (at least my) gluttony. The second is a large square with the Eiffel Tower in the center. Both settings arouse joy and the desire to share emotions and experiences.
During my visit, I met several photographers intent on immortalizing themselves in the various poses more in tune with the setting of Paris.
I recommend a visit, especially for lovers of the French style. During my stay, I shot a video that I propose.
In the end, I couldn’t resist, and I let myself be tempted: Van pointed out to me that I should stop with all these sweets. My expression is worth a thousand words.

Qualche giorno fa ho avuto occasione di esplorare una location che, di recente, Second Life Destinations sta promuovendo: Paris for Ara. In Second Life Destinations lo potete trovare con il nome “Vive La Paris“.
Diciamo subito che si tratta di una sim a scopo fotografico, quindi è pensata soprattutto per fotografi che amano lo stile francese. Tuttavia, come Parigi del resto, Paris for Ara offre romanticismo e occasioni per dolci momenti insieme al vostro partner. Al landing point è possibile trovare informazioni relative alla prenotazione di una cena romantica comprensiva del servizio completo. Qualcuno sorriderà pensando a una cena virtuale, ma bisogna ricordare che, con l’introduzione delle esperienze, qualsiasi evento può diventare interattivo e coinvolgente. Non ho provato questa esperienza, quindi non so dirvi di più, però credo che, se siete alla ricerca di un momento di relax e romanticismo, questa possa essere una buona occasione.
Nella descrizione della location si legge:
C’è tanta bellezza e profondità nella ricchezza della sua storia e della sua cultura. Ha resistito così tanto eppure resiste ancora, è ancora mozzafiato e forte. Lei mi ricorda Parigi.

La location si suddivide in due ambientazioni: la prima, accessibile dal landing point, fatta di negozi e strade ricche di fioristi e fiori esposti, bar che espongono prelibatezze fin troppo realistiche che stuzzicano (almeno la mia) golosità. La seconda è una ampia piazza con al centro la Tour Eiffel. Entrambe le ambientazioni suscitano allegria e voglia di condividere emozioni ed esperienze insieme.
Durante la mia visita, ho incontrato diversi fotografi intenti a immortalarsi nelle varie pose più in sintonia con l’ambientazione di Parigi.
Una visita che consiglio, soprattutto agli amanti dello stile francese. Durante la mia permanenza, ho girato un video che vi propongo.
Alla fine non ho resistito e mi sono lasciata tentare: Van mi ha fatto notare che dovrei smetterla con tutti questi dolci. La mia espressione vale più di mille parole.
The spaces are undoubtedly smaller than the homestead of the previous location. However, I must say that Jack and Mina (Jack Davies and Mina Arcana) have managed to create a place similar to the installation made at LEA8. All with the invaluable help of the Astral Staff.
The location extends vertically, making the most of the spaces in the sky. The landing point is at the beach, where the inscription Astral Dreams embellished with objects in Steampunk style, welcomes the visitor.
Here you will find a teleport from which you can access the various land spots.
An excellent meeting point is the games room and the space in the sky dedicated to music and live events.
The cable car that takes you from one side to the other of the meeting areas located in the sky is splendid.
I remember that Astral Dreams was born on June 15, 2008, and represents an essential point of reference for the Italian community.

Astral Dreams Apre le Porte alla sua Nuova Location
Questa sera, a partire dalle ore 22:30 (1:30 PM SLT), Astral Dreams aprirà le porte delle sua nuova location.
Oggi pomeriggio mi sono concessa del tempo per visitare la nuova sistemazione della sede di Astral Dreams.
Gli spazi sono indubbiamente più contenuti rispetto alla homestead della sede precedente. Tuttavia devo dire che Jack e Mina (Jack Davies e Mina Arcana) sono riusciti a realizzare, con il prezioso aiuto dello Staff di Astral, una località simile all’allestimento realizzato a LEA8.
La location si estende in verticale, sfruttando mirabilmente gli spazi in cielo. Il punto di arrivo è alla spiaggia, dove la scritta Astral Dreams abbellita da oggetti in stile Steampunk, dà il benvenuto al visitatore.
Qui si trova un teleport da cui è possibile accedere ai vari spots della land.
Un ottimo punto di ritrovo è la sala giochi e lo spazio in cielo dedicato alla musica e agli eventi live.
Splendida è la funivia che conduce da una parte all’altra delle zone di ritrovo ubicate in cielo.
Ricordo che Astral Dreams è nata il 15 giugno 2008 e rappresenta un punto di riferimento importante per la comunità italiana.

Caravans that seem to come out of the ’60s, balloons and reassuring statues help to make the “climate” familiar and make the visitor feel welcome and at ease.
The site occupies an area of 8192 square meters, but it seems much more extensive because the objects are well distributed and, being Cerveza Island a full sim, the number of prims available make it possible to obtain an excellent level of detail.
Creata da AJ (anyajurelle), Cake (ubicata presso una parcella di Cerveza Island) offre a fotografi, blogger e vlogger moltissimi spunti per narrazioni, immagini e registrazioni. In un ambientazione dai colori vivaci, si viene accolti da un manto di prato primaverile impreziosito da fiori di ogni colore.
Caravan che sembrano usciti dagli anni ’60, palloncini e statue rassicuranti contribuiscono a rendere il “clima” familiare e a far sentire il visitatore il benvenuto e a suo agio.
La località occupa un’area di 8192 mq, ma sembra molto più estesa perché gli oggetti sono ben distribuiti ed, essendo Cerveza Island una full sim, il numero di prims messi a disposizione permettono di ottenere un ottimo livello di dettaglio.
Cece’s Secret is a homestead furnished making the most of the prims availability (5000). It is an example of fresh decor and excellent taste.
The author is CeCeGy, an inspiring photographer, who has both an attractive Flickr profile and a personal blog (as she says, for fun).
Returning to her splendid homestead, Cece’s Secret has a “center” and a more private and peripheral part. In the central area, there is the station, point of arrival, with a unique retro setting. The train arrived at the station after passing through a tunnel. It is an idea that I appreciate, it gives realism to the landscape. Also in the central area, there is the primary structure that houses the bar and several shops in the old style.
The suburban area, accessible by foot along the snowy path, is reserved and dedicated to two beautiful houses. They are comfortable and furnished with care and attention to detail.
