For the fourth consecutive year, we are gathering in Second Life to celebrate International Women’s Day with a strong message: Rights. Equality. Empowerment. This event is not just a gathering—it’s a movement, a celebration, and a call to action.

Event Schedule:
11 AM SLT – Live Music by Mimi Carpenter
Let the captivating voice of one of Second Life’s top musicians set the tone for an inspiring celebration.
12 PM SLT – DJ Booka
The party kicks off as DJ Booka takes the stage, keeping the energy alive with an exciting set.
1,45 PM SLT – Dance Performance by The Imaginals
Get ready to be captivated by a breathtaking dance performance that showcases the strength and spirit of women around the globe.

This year, we are thrilled to partner with the SL Video Creators Group for a special contest! If you have a passion for storytelling and visual arts, this is your opportunity to make a difference.
International Women’s Day 2025 Short Film Contest
Theme: For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.
The contest aims to showcase the experiences, challenges, and triumphs of women and girls in Second Life. Whether through fiction, documentary, or artistic expression, we want to see how YOU interpret this theme.
General Rules:
Who Can Join?
Open to all Second Life residents.
Submissions must be original and new; previously submitted works will not be accepted.
Videos must comply with Second Life’s community guidelines.
Submission Guidelines:
Any film format is welcome.
Must adhere to the Rights. Equality. Empowerment. theme.
Videos must align with the UN Women’s 2025 mission.
The deadline for submissions is March 25th, 2025.
You can send your entries through SLVCG’s Discord, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Please include your name, in-world contact information, and a brief description (up to 200 words) detailing how your film reflects the theme.
Entries should promote respect, inclusivity, and positivity for women and girls. Any content that is discriminatory or harmful will be disqualified.
Judging will be based on the following criteria:
Creativity: How uniquely does the film explore the theme?
Storytelling: Is the message clear and impactful?
Technical Quality: Consideration of production value, sound, and editing.
Impact: Does it inspire change and raise awareness?
Prizes include:
🥇 1st Place: L$7,000
🥈 2nd Place: L$3,000
Winners will be announced on March 29th, 2025, during our Women’s Month Closing Party at the We Orange The World – Second Life event area. Winning films will be featured on SLVCG and We Orange The World SL’s official Flickr and Facebook pages.
Participants grant SLVCG & We Orange The World SL the right to share and promote the submitted videos, while creators maintain full ownership of their content.
